just tried the Wolf Ammo in my AC556
Wouldn't pick up the third round. Shot fine in semi - but the bolt would not pick up the third round, just left an empty chamber. Then, I had a case stick in the chamber. Put brass back in and it ran fine. So, Wolf is a no-go in my gun for now.

Wolf tends to be underpowered a bit. Had the same problem in my gun. A correct flashider fixed it.

I've had good luck witht eh black boxed Wolf stuff. I tried using the camo boxed Military Classic and it would run about the same. I'd get three or four rounds, then the bolt would close on an empty chamber. Theought about getting an adjustable gas block for it since I had a couple cases of the Wolf ammo. I ended up selling off the wolf since the AC was my only .223 at the time and bought the black boxed stuff. It works fine for me.

The flashider will actually show wear on the end ring, in between the "prongs" of the birdcage, where unburnt powder will wear the ring away. If you compare a new FH with a worn one, there weill be deeper grooves between the prongs on the worn FH.

I was wondering about the Tula stuff. I'm sure it awfully similar to the Wolf, but wanted to pick some up to try out. I've also heard that Silver Bear is a bit hotter than most Wolf. Need to try some of it out as well!

Silver Bear is manufactured by Barnaul. Barnaul is hotter ammo then Wolf in all calibers.
We've had CAR-15's giving problems with Wolf ammo. Switching on the spot to, for example, Prvi Partizan solved it like there were no issues. Wolf is underpowered compared to other brands.

Here's something you might want to try. Russian steel cased ammo doesn't like a tight chamber. Spray cleaner in the chamber. Let it soak for a few minutes. Put an oversize brush on a cleaning rod. Use any re-chargeable drill and scrub the chamber. Repeat a few times. The purpose is to remove any old dried oil, cosmo, ect. This solved the problem on 2 weapons that were gaging on steel cased ammo.
